LAPD Police Academy Facility Replacement, Administration and Shooting Ranges Restoration

Description

The Los Angeles Police Academy Replacement Training Facility project consists of new construction, renovation, historic preservation, rehabilitation, and complex site utility improvements. The new construction consisted of a 20,430 SF cast-in-place two-story training center building with office space, instructional classrooms, simulation room, bike storage room, elevator, breakroom, electrical and data room, and an outdoor conditioning track and field. The renovation and rehabilitation portion of the project included the interior and exterior renovation of the three-story administration / clubhouse / cafe / gymnasium building and shooting ranges, originally built in the 1930s. All existing buildings were brought up to code to comply with current fire and life safety requirements. The four practice firing ranges were completely remodeled and provided with new target equipment.
